Tena Koutou Katoa, Ko Tracy Bedford toku ingoa. Ko Auckland North Shore ahau. No Zimbabwe ahau.

I have been an early childhood teacher for over 20 years with over 5 years of managerial experience. I have worked and studied in both the UK and New Zealand. My journey as a teacher started out in a Montessori school in the UK. This is where I learnt that children are competent capable learners, they just need the right tools and supportive Kaiako to help them achieve their goals. As I have progressed through my teaching journey, I find myself drawing from my Montessori background as well Reggio and RIE. All have the same underpinning values of respect and allowing children to explore and reach their goals.

I have two beautiful children, two crazy dogs and a pet turtle. All of whom are the centre of my world. On the weekends we love taking the dogs to the beach and just being out in nature and enjoying everything papatuanuku has to offer us. My Children changed my whole teaching philosophy and made my passion for working with children even stronger, as I wanted every child to get the same love, patience and respect that I give my own children. Becoming a manager meant I could ensure the Centre I work at has quality care, where every child has a voice.

I look forward to meeting you and your family and welcoming you into the Tiny Voices Whanau.
