Hello, Kia ora and Nihao,

My name is Maya Tan, Centre Manager of Tiny Voices Hobsonville. I am originally from China and have called this beautiful country my home since 2000. I am an NZ trained, qualified, and certified teacher with 14 years working in ECE. I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management which gives me the fundamental skills to run a successful team. I am the proud mum of two lovely, intelligent boys, Sebastian and Xavier who also attend Tiny Voices Hobsonville with me.

I am inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, RIE and Pikler philosophy and have always seen myself as a facilitator, working and exploring alongside children to nurture and support them to become competent and confident individuals in their early years of learning. I am really enjoying the progression to Centre Manager where my role has expanded to include working and exploring alongside the Tiny Voices Hobsonville teachers to support and provide them with the best possible teaching environment so they can educate our next generation.

I love cooking and spending time with my family and friends. For me, being Centre Manager at Tiny Voices Hobsonville is not only a job, but also passion, care, responsibility and trust. The quality of care and satisfaction of parents and children is so important to me, I look forward to meeting you and being part of the learning journey alongside you and your tamariki.
